Chalk It Up Festival Sacramento,

Fremont Park, Sacramento, California, United States Fremont Park, Sacramento, California, United States

  • About the event

Each Labor Day Weekend, we turn Fremont Park in downtown Sacramento into an explosion of chalk art masterpieces, live music, public art, and community engagement. Since 1991, the Chalk It Up! festival has been our biggest fundraiser, and has turned into a hugely popular regional event that brings over 60,000 people to Fremont Park over the three-day weekend.

The main attraction of the Chalk It Up! festival are the hundreds of sidewalk chalk paintings that are created over the course of the weekend. Supported by our generous Square Sponsors, and brought to life by our talented Volunteer Artists, these squares turn from gray concrete paths to beautiful expressions of artistic vision. These chalk masterpieces are started on the first day of the festival and the public is encouraged to watch their progress throughout the weekend.

    Why should you sponsor?

This will be our first time participating at this annual event. As of March 2017 we are a officially chartered student organization out of Sacramento City College and all we need is one sponsor for this event. The SCC Creative Alliance mission is to bridge the creative gaps on and off campus for the purpose of giving back to the community. We thank you for your time.

    Francisco Vasquez

Hello! My name is Cisco, short for Francisco. I am a full time student at Sacramento College, my major is graphic communications and I work as a tutor in the design lab on campus with the most fabulous faculty that a man could ever ask for. I'm also a full time parent to a wonderful 3 year old son and a husband to an amazing life-partner. I'm an Artitst who loves to paint and as of this year (2017), I co-founded the student organization SCC Creative Alliance as way to teach and grow with our local communiity. I plan to network and collaborate with as many locals as possible to establish creative outlets for our youth and to progress in stewardship within the global society.
