Carnival Extravaganza ,

Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States

  • About the event

Our event is a carnival party that will be held at The Children's Hospital at St. Francis. The children are going under treatment and need their spirits lifted during such hard times in their lives. I believed that the children should be celebrated and entertained all days of the year, therefore we decided to make an event during the year but not around a holiday to provide them with joy and happiness. This event is hosted by high school student volunteers who are part of the Health Occupation Students Association group held at the Union High School. The event is non-profit and for the sole purpose to make the children smile.

    Why should you sponsor?

Our group, Health Occupation Students Association, has no funds to make this event happen. All of the event is made with the efforts of the volunteers which are high school students. We want to make this event unforgettable for the children , but we need help. Nothing is unreachable, especially when it comes to such an important cause. Help us make a difference in these children's lives.

    vanessa munoz

My name is Vanessa Munoz and I am a senior at the Union High School. I take concurrent Tulsa Community College classes that enable me to advance in my educational career and will help me reach my dream college. In addition to concurrent classes, the high school has a Tulsa Tech biomedical program which I am a part of, and have been for two years. Through this program I discovered HOSA, which stands for Health Occupation Students Association. The group is made up of high school students who aspire to become future health professionals. I became the president for HOSA for the year 2016-2017 and our belief is that through volunteer work and community service we can impact the lives of others in an imaginable unforgettable way, even if it is through a small act of kindness. HOSA has opened so many opportunities for my members and I, and we hope to provide opportunities to others as well. Thanks to these experiences I have learned the importance of community service and leadership which are skills that I will use in college and in my future.
