On June 3rd, MBP will host a benefit concert for sickle cell disease, in partnership with Queens Sickle Cell Advocacy Network (NYC chapter of the National Sickle Cell Disease Association of America).
Can't join us, but still down for the cause? Make a tax-deductible donation on our website, and ioby will match it.
Your sponsorship will empower the South Bronx, and contribute to a culture of health. Donation proceeds will fund the MBP for Sickle Cell Awareness Scholarship.
Morrisania Band Project (MBP) is a Bronx-based band started in September 2016 by a group of local musicians and songwriters. Musical influences range from R&B soul, funk, pop, and hip-hop. MBP creates a platform for musicians to add vibrancy to the Bronx through social initiatives and community engagement.
We received Bronx Council on the Arts’ 2017 Arts Fund Award and a Neighborhood Grant from Citizens Committee for New York City.
MBP was chosen for an ioby 2017 Healthy Neighborhoods Challenge to use music and the arts to promote sickle cell disease awareness in the South Bronx.
