This is the annual dinner we have to congratulate the 15 seniors who will be graduating from the program and going to SUNY Downstate Medical School. It is also a chance to welcome the new incoming freshmen who earned a seat in the BA-MD Program. Every year we are able to gift the seniors with stethoscopes with money the school provides. However, due to budget cuts from the school, we are no longer able to give them this gift. We are asking different sponsors to help us fund these gifts as well as the welcome gift for the incoming freshmen.
Why should you sponsor?
We are asking for funding to help further the education of future doctors. We want to be able to give these students something great to use in medical school. All the money we receive would be used to sponsor these gifts.
My name is Liz Joseph. I am the current president of the BA-MD organization of Brooklyn College. I am one of the seniors who will be graduating with the program and going to medical school. I have worked hard, just like my fellow classmates, to make it to this point. Every year when I volunteer at the dinner, I am able to see the joy on the faces of the graduating seniors when they receive their first stethoscopes. I want to be able to provide the same joy and happiness to my classmates despite budget cuts.
