About the event

The International Health Organization is overseeing the event and their mandate is to develop an annual family fun event that highlights activities around Halloween, Anime, Cosplay, Film, Performing Arts, make-up and Community. Halloween in the second largest event celebrated after Christmas, with Anime and Cosplay becoming one of the fastest growing fiction fan based industries in North America. 

Why should you sponsor?

To advance the public's appreciation of the arts by presenting and producing arts, visual arts, dances and performances from diverse cultures and communities while reducing blood and gore themes to celebrate and sustain Halloween heritage in family friendly and healthy direction.

There are very few events that focus on family with the emphasis on cultural arts and traditional folklore. Supporting this event will make it possible to provide non-profit dance, musical and artistic groups a chance to perform in front of a large audience and highlight their talent. 

It is the hope that the event will encourage and engage young audience members to explore their artist side and find an outlet for their creativity.

Vancouver Halloween Parade and Expo is a festival founded by the event division of International Health Council, a non-profit organization, in collaboration with Vancouver International Halloween Festival Society and local artists, artisans and performers. About 600 volunteers donated their time and skills to the first festival in 2014.

Artistic Vision

We present and produce dances, music, performances and visual arts in fantasy. The methods we use include adopting costumes and/or props to represent the objects not existing in the real life. Halloween is the festival of fantasy and we present and produce arts in fantasy for this celebration. The mythologies from diverse cultures, fantasy films, comics, anime and video games influence the arts in fantasy the most, and we want the public to develop intercultural understanding by engaging themselves with our artists at Vancouver Halloween Parade and Expo.

 

Mission

We present dancers, artists, artisans and performers to summon superheroes, supernaturals, aliens, robots from films, comics, anime, games, sci-fi and mythologies to create a fun, safe, family friendly and healthy Halloween.
