About the event
Each year, we bring five Bollywood/Fusion and five Bhangra dance teams to Madison for Aa Dekhen Zara, one of the Midwest’s premier dance competitions and one of Madison’s biggest cultural events of the year. Bollywood/Fusion dance teams incorporate many different dance styles, ranging from Indian classical to ballet to hip-hop, and are required to tell a story through their 7-10-minute routine. Bhangra dancers combine traditional India folk dance with modern beats and other genres to create an intensely energetic performance. Teams from all over the U.S. train rigorously all year long to prepare and present their best performance the night of the show. This year we expect over 150 dancers, and almost 1,000 spectators, as well as many tuning in online.
Why should you sponsor?
The competition brings together members of the community and by providing us sponsorship, you will have an opportunity to raise brand awareness to a broad multicultural community. You will be able to reach out to a large audience of students and audience all over the nation. There are nearly 50,000+ on the UW-Madison Campus and a sold out auditorium of nearly 1,000 people. There are numerous marketing benefits with names/logos included on the website, program, on-stage slideshow, and t-shirts. The programs will be distributed to all the audience members and participants. There are over 5,000 fliers distributed/posted with 11,600 people reached and 35,300 people engaged through social media platforms such as Facebook. There are nearly 100 hits on the event website daily. As a sponsor, you will be promoting South Asian culture and unity within the diversity of the University of Wisconsin Campus as well as the Upper Midwest. ADZ 2016 provides you with a marketing platform like none other and helps your business reach out to various demographics.
Hosted by ADZ Entertainment, a registered student organization at the University of Wisconsin—Madison, Aa Dekhen Zara brings together the best of Bhangra and Bollywood-Fusion dance to create an unforgettable evening of dance, music, and pure entertainment. Through this show, we aim to bring attention to South Asian culture in the US in the most enjoyable way possible—through dance! In the five years since it was created, ADZ has become one of Madison’s largest cultural shows, attracting teams from around the country as well as audiences from the university, the greater community, and all over the Midwest. Last year we donated a portion of our proceeds to the charity Commit2Change, which seeks to educate impoverished and abanoned girls in India. This year we hope to work with this charity again.
