About the event

Celebrating twelve years of the Orchard Project, A TASTE OF SOMETHING NEW is the first official event to build excitement for artists joining us in 2020, a look back at projects we have accelerated in the past, and a celebration of our Orchard Project family. The Orchard Project looks forward to TASTE as our opportunity to raise the crucial funds necessary to continue our support of the future of American theater.

Honoring award-winning tap legend Savion Glover, TONY-nominated and OBIE winning writer Kyle Jarrow, and TONY-winning producers Kristin Caskey and Amanda Dubois, TASTE will feature a tasting menu of one of a kind dishes from new and iconic New York chefs and restaurants, bespoke cocktails, performances from Orchard Project alumni and friends, and a live auction. Current chefs donating recipes include Cat Cora, Carla Hall, and Ryan Hardy, amongst others.

Expected attendance at the 2020 TASTE Gala will include 300 guests, a mix of high-end theatre and performing arts industry, prominent Orchard Project Alumni, high net-worth individuals, corporate leaders, and New York’s cultural tastemakers.

This year our Gala Honorary Committee includes a collection of artists and luminaries such as: Alan Cumming, Bebe Neuwirth, Daphne Rubin Vega, Dave Malloy, David Cale, David Mendel, David Yazbek, Esperanza Spalding, Grace McLean, Hunter Bell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, John Glover, Kelli O’Hara, Kurt Andersen and Anne Kreamer, Lea DeLaria, Mike Bartlett, Nathan Tysen, Richard Kind, and Tonya Pinkins (as of 2/1/20).
