‘A RESET OF EARTH’ CONCERT 

presented by ANNA CHONG

A Reset of earth is an independent, fully self-funded project collaborated with visual artist, Sam Lee. It includes six original musical works along with videos, delineating the changes of the ‘lifeness’ in which how one’s musical journey and creativity are being formed, deformed, and reformed through times and spaces.

The Chinese character of the title RESET (yuan hui), taken from Anna's father’s name, reminds the origin of the universe: the point at which she started; the place she was born.

One of an essential elements driving across the pieces is that she has created a new form of chanting of what she called ‘self-language’ and treated it as a ‘meta-instrument’ to cross and (re)access other musical world without boundaries and labels. Such language opens up a window for her to re-visit her musical identity rethinking the authenticity of one’s creativity and voices.

Directed by Yeo, the concert will be gathered around 12 musicians including strings, percussion, and vocalists, combining different forms and elements filled with theatrical atmosphere through lightings, movements, and spaces through which the audience weaves and travel their musical utopia.

The digital album will be launched in December 2017 whereas the debut albums will only be released exclusively in January 2018 during the concert at DPAC theatre.

ANNA CHONG is a singer-songwriter, composer. Anna has launched her debut album entitled ‘Tack’ in July 29th, 2013. ‘Tack’ means thank you in Swedish. In year 2015, ‘Tack’ album has awarded the ‘Best Indie Album’ by Malaysia PWH Music Award, and nominated in the ‘Best Album’ by AIM Music Award 2016. In the early stage of her music career, Anna’s works was featured in various recording artistes’ albums in Hong Kong, Taiwan, China and Malaysia. The likes of Andy Lau, Kelly Chen, Rainee Yang, Guo-Jing, Penny Tai, Hocc, Fan Bing-Bing, Zeng Yu-Jia and others had sung Anna’s compositions.
