  • About the event

The Boardwalk Art Show is a nationally recognized fine art and contemporary craft show on the Virginia Beach Boardwalk. It has been held annually for the past 61 years every Father's Day weekend and is the longest running annual event in Virginia Beach. From small beginnings in 1952 the show has grown in to a spectacular event that attracts over 300,000 art enthusiasts, tourists, and locals over the four days.

Each year 275 artists from over 700 applicants are selected to participate in the show. Together artists, sponsors, and food vendors line nearly 16 blocks along the Atlantic Ocean.

    Why should you sponsor?

Through a partnership with the Boardwalk Art Show, not only will your business get sponsorship benefits, but you will be helping us make our community better. Last year we were able to bring 4,000 disadvantaged children to the museum at no cost. For many of these children it is their first time visiting a museum and creates a lasting memory. Through our education outreach program, we went into title 1 schools to teach math, history, science, and various other subjects through art to nearly 10,000 students. This innovative way of teaching complex concepts enriches the learning experience for thousands of children. This represents less than ten percent of disadvantaged children in our area. Help us achieve our goal of enriching the life of every child through contemporary art.

The Boardwalk Art Show is produced by the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), a non-profit museum and arts organization that evolved from the art show itself. MOCA exists to foster awareness, exploration, and understanding of the significant art of our time.  Through excellence and diversity in our changing exhibitions and educational programming, MOCA stimulates critical thinking and dialogue throughout the Hampton Roads community.
