About the event
Researchers estimate that 1 in 6 men have experienced unwanted or abusive sexual experiences before age 18. 1BlueStringHubCity is an event driven campaign to raise awareness and support so that male survivors in our community can live healthier, happier lives.
Join SAFE Homes – Rape Crisis Coalition for the exciting 2nd annual campaign!
Your sponsorship helps to encourage local musicians by using the power of the arts to raise awareness for an important social issue, leading to healing for individuals and unification for our community.
- Singer/songwriter competition, open to individuals or groups
- Target audience – Spartanburg and surrounding areas (Upstate SC)
- Contestants register, submit original piece based on this year’s theme: VOICE (finding your own voice or using your voice to help others)
- Judges score each entry, top 6 are chosen as finalists
- Live concert in April, finalists perform, attendees vote, winner chosen
- Winner receives prize package including local performances, cash, and professional recording
Competition registration opens Jan. 1 - Finalists announced in March - Grand finale concert April 20th

Help support local musicians by giving them an encouraging platform to showcase their talents. Amateur and rising musicians are challenged and rewarded by engageing the community in this unique experience.
By utilizing the arts, we come together to raise awareness and support for those who have been adversely effected by sexual abuse. Embracing our voice about the issue helps them to get help for healing.
